About
Welcome to Sophie Bulloch Tuition, where passion for education meets personalized learning.
Personal Story:
I am a full-time Economics tutor since 2016 and am based in London.
I attended an outstanding state grammar school (Dr. Challoners' in Little Chalfont) where I was fortunate to be taught by a wonderfully knowledgeable teacher with decades of experience. Despite this positive experience, I encountered significant challenges with Economics. Unlike previous subjects like English, Economics required entirely new skills, particularly in writing. Additionally, there were an abundance of diagrams yet textbooks lacked sufficient explanations. Furthermore, the mark scheme was subjective and difficult to interpret. Unfortunately, my teacher had 20 other students to worry about and I was left with many unanswered questions that even the textbook and examiner report could not fulfil. This seems to be quite a common experience in Economics.
My passion for Economics drove me to seek out and solve answers independently. This journey highlighted gaps in the educational approach, especially at higher levels of study. It inspired me to pursue a career in tutoring, where I find great fulfillment in helping students navigate these challenges and excel.
Recognizing the need for better educational resources in Economics, I am committed to continually improving my teaching methods. I am also looking forward to launching a comprehensive online writing course to better equip students with the necessary tools for academic success in Economics.

Wider Interests
Beyond tutoring, I find fulfillment in family, friends and a range of activities that keep life balanced.
I have a big family (I enjoy the chaos!) and see them regularly, bringing laughter and nourishing meaningful connections. I like to catch up with friends, and enjoy exploring new activities with them such as eating good food or walking in nature.
Sports are a big part of my routine, offering a chance to stay active and challenge myself. I also dance a lot of salsa and volunteer teaching twice per week, which I enjoy due to its connection, complexity and various styles. I am also creative and enjoy diving into new projects, such as coding and working on my Economics writing course. I keep myself busy and enjoy the freedom that creativity brings.
