How Tuition Works
Tuition is a multi-step process involving assessment, planning and teaching sessions
1Assessment
Knowledge throughout your specification and your style of writing will be studied and discussed in relation to your goals, and anything else that you feel is important.
2Planning
We will devise a strategy to acquire the remaining skills, set objectives for each lesson or week, and discuss and clarify the pre-study and homework requirements.
3Teaching Sessions
Tools and support are provided and a topic or skill is worked on together. Some students prefer a supportive week-on-week approach and others have measurable goals.
4Repeat
Mini or full exams are set to verify progress and provide extensive feedback as agreed in the learning plan. Further planning and tuition cycles may ensue.
What Are Teaching Sessions Like?

"We wanted a tutor that could help our daughter with A level Economics, not only on the academic side but also one who could help to boost her confidence and self-belief in her own abilities through approachable yet structured sessions. Sophie has been absolutely wonderful, her approach is second to none and she always goes over and above at each session with detailed follow up emails and progress charts that my daughter uses to help her plan revision.
She is highly organised, knows all the exam boards and is able to pinpoint exactly where the gaps in learning are and what is necessary to succeed. My daughters confidence is hugely improved, her enthusiasm for the subject is renewed and she is no longer feeling apprehensive having finished year 12 with hugely improved grades. I cannot recommend Sophie highly enough, her professional yet friendly manner is something that is hard to find."

"Sophie had a lovely manner. She helped my son identify exactly how to answer his A level questions and after two sessions, he leapt two grades in his mock. I was most impressed with the lengthy email she sent after the session, which thoughtfully identified a revision plan, areas of focus, revised the points they'd covered and recommended further reading. She took great trouble and was terrific value for money."
- Amanda C
"Sophie has helped my daughter to get a clearer grasp of the fundamentals of A Level Economics and how to tackle exam questions. She is very much learner-centred and addresses the individual needs of the student. Sophie is very reliable and works in a clear, structured manner. She is able to break topics down into manageable chunks so that they can be clearly understood by the student. Both my daughter and I are very pleased with Sophie as a tutor and we give her the highest recommendation."
